The Skilled Occupations List (SOL)

One of the basic requirements of Skilled Migration is that you must nominate an occupation that is the same as your work experience and/or qualifications from a list of occupations placed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL)

It is a comprehensive list of most occupations taken from the ASCO Dictionary, the occupations listed on the SOL are occupations which are determined to be sought after in Australia. The Australian Government changes this list from time to time.

Each of these occupations has a points value, either 40, 50 or 60 points. Your skills, if assessed by the nominated authority as "suitable" for your nominated occupation will be used in calculating your total Points Test Score.

If you cannot locate your occupation on this list, you should NOT continue with the Skilled Migration assessment but contact us by email at enquiries@agms.com.au to determine if there is another way that you can legally enter Australia.
